Stichting Second Home aims to realize and maintain a residential facility for children with intellectual disabilities or learning delays in Gambia so that they can go to school. At Second Home, 12 children live who are cared for by employees from Gambia themselves, called nannies. They provide food, physical care, and give the children a chance to be carefree children.
The children are picked up from home by us on Monday and taken to school. In the afternoon, they are picked up again and brought to Second Home. This happens daily, and on Friday afternoon they are brought home again to spend the weekend with their families.
With the money, we ensure that the residential facility can be realized and that the children can go to school. In the future, the foundation hopes to build its own lodge and a learning/workplace for the children.
