Zoë was found lifeless in bed at the shelter when she was 4 months old. She was resuscitated for 20 minutes and transported by trauma helicopter to Radboudumc in Nijmegen. There she was kept in an induced coma. For a week we did not know if she would make it. She has severe brain damage due to lack of oxygen. She has Cerebral Palsy, dystonia, and CVI. Motorically, she is very delayed. Besides the regular therapies, we also follow ABM therapy. This targets brain plasticity and creates new movement patterns. As a result, she develops and feels much better! Unfortunately, this is (still) not reimbursed. The therapy costs us €3000 per year. Thank you very much!
